Barry Martines was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. When he graduated in 1975 from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, he knew that he wanted to become a lawyer to help people who couldn't help themselves. Barry attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice. During his early school years, he worked for 8 years at various Safeway grocery stores in Tarrant County and worked his way from sacker, to stocker, to cashier, to 3rd manager; ultimately running a large superstore in Hurst, before he left for law school in San Antonio. While at Safeway, he met many good people in Tarrant County and was well known as the shop steward at his store, where he worked on behalf of his co-workers to ensure they were treated fairly by management. Barry graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1982 with a Juris Doctor degree and then chose to return back home, to Fort Worth, to pursue his career.

After graduating law school, Barry returned to Fort Worth and accepted a position with the firm of Kugle, Stewart, Dent & Frederick; a firm that represented injured folks exclusively. During his 8 years with the firm, Barry handled literally hundreds of cases, including different types of injury claims and tried a large number of successful jury verdicts, resulting in numerous happy clients who recovered more than the insurance company had offered them before trial. His strong success in the courtroom has not gone unnoticed and he continues to focus his practice solely on bodily injury claims. In over 24 years of representing injured folks, Mr. Martines has concluded several thousand motor vehicle accident and other negligence injury claims for his clients. Barry's law firm has always provided free initial client conferences for new clients and unlike many others, his firm believes in good, old fashioned, customer service with only one goal in mind: putting a big smile on your face at the conclusion of your case.

Mr. Martines is fully licensed to practice in all state courts by the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.
